The official embroidered mission patch of shuttle flight STS 41-C. During the 1984 shuttle flight the crew of Challenger made the first repairs of an orbiting satellite, the Solar Max observatory. The astronauts also deployed the Long Duration Exposure Facility (LDEF) which remained in orbit until 1990.
